Oil Purification

Common thinking would tell you that new oil out of the container is as clean as it gets, right? Wrong!  As surprising as it may seem, most oil purchased today has not been fully filtered. Even new oil has some contaminants, and Harvard’s oil filtration systems can make it even cleaner.

Harvard filtration systems also have the ability to remove particles below the film thickness—3-5 microns — under pressure which exceeds the oil filtration capabilities of most other filter manufacturers.

Harvard systems are also superior in removing moisture from lubricants. Water in engine oil is mostly a result of the combustion process. When water combines with sulphur, nitrogen and other trace compounds dissolved in the system’s components, it can be a catalyst for oxidation and nitration that forms harmful acids while also promoting sludge formation.
